How it Went83 people undertook the 25km hike. The weather was good to
us and a cool morning brightened to a beautifully clear day - Belfast presented
below us to its very best.
An overworked minibus and the 3 Mountain Rescue Landrovers shutteled 4 groups down to the bottom of Colin Glen for the walk start. 81 participants completed the walk with a dozen or so taking the option to finish at the pre-arranged half-way point. For some this was the longest walk they had ever attempted, others were more experienced walkers so completion times ranged from 5.5 hours to just over 7 hours. Sponsorship from the walkers amounted to over £3500. With the prize for the single most impressive fundraiser going to Caroline Lockens, who turned up with an astonishing £270 pounds in sponsorship.
